Brooklands offers a calm, welcoming atmosphere in a quiet residential area of Fulwood, with spaces designed to feel like home.
Every resident receives person-centred support tailored to their needs, preferences, and routines—promoting independence and dignity.
Our experienced care team is on hand day and night, providing reassurance, practical help, and genuine companionship.
Residents can enjoy fresh air and gentle activity in our enclosed garden—ideal for quiet moments, visits with loved ones, or simply relaxing.
All rooms at The Brooklands are single occupancy and include en-suite toilet and washing facilities, as well as an emergency nurse call system for added peace of mind. Many rooms also include wet rooms, fridges, and tea and coffee making facilities—plus larger layouts to accommodate wheelchair users.
We want every resident to feel at home, and we’ll always do our best to meet personal preferences. From bringing cherished belongings to decorating their space, we encourage residents to make their room truly their own.
All residents are fully assessed by our Home Manager prior to admission to ensure that their needs can be fully met within our home. This assessment is used as the basis for future care planning which is an ongoing process following admission to The Brooklands. Care plans are created by the management team in consultation with the resident, their relatives and other medical professionals to ensure that all care needs are met.
Each resident’s care plan will include a description of their preferred daily routine, their likes and dislikes in relation to food and any special dietary, health or personal needs. It will also address the issues of dignity, privacy and respect and what this means to the resident in terms of daily behaviour and actions. In addition the care plan includes a risk assessment and management plan. Finally it includes details of residents’ social interests and hobbies and how these are met.
Every resident is allocated a key worker who will act as their primary point of contact for all care related issues. The aim is to create a rapport between the resident and staff member so that the resident feels secure that all their needs can be met. We see residents as individuals and aim to pursue a person centred approach to care planning and delivery.
In addition the home maintains good relationships with all local healthcare agencies and social services departments which enables us to access any services that may be required by a resident, for example, chiropody, speech therapy or physiotherapy. Residents are encouraged to remain with their existing GP if at all possible as this maintains continuity of care.
Residents are encouraged to establish and maintain links with the local community. For example, if a resident has strong religious beliefs or regularly attends a day centre then we will make every effort to ensure that they are able to continue with this following admission to The Brooklands.
